India Pale Ale (Avery Brewing Company)

Posted: October 17, 2012 in Beer

Okay, this is a tough one…   Right out of the gate it tasted great, it had what I thought was an appropriate amount of hoppiness. It had a good kind of bitterness and wasn’t too in your face. But for one reason or another it didn’t turn into a beer that I could drink more than one in a sitting. The taste just sat in the back of my throat for way too long, nothing seemed could clear the palette, even my wife’s enchiladas. I would drink this beer again though at the bar but a six pack may have not been the best idea unless I were to only drink one per day. But I welcome you too try it (who am I right?)

Cheers!

Out of Bottle/Can: 5 out of 10

  1. I love this beer! Drink it regularly but then again I’ve developed quite the taste for strong IPA’s and anything that Avery makes. Plus it’s awesome to be able to pack cans out as opposed to bottles 😉

Umm what does hoppiness mean? 🙂

Hops are used in the brewing of beer, It’s gives beer a certain amount of bitterness to the beer. Don’t think for a moment that bitterness is bad, it’s necessary to balance out the other ingredients and keep the beer from being too sweet.

That being said, many beer enthusiasts love more hops in their beer because of the unique flavor it has.

Try a domestic beer (Bud, Coors, Miller)
Then Try a Pale Ale or an India Pale Ale

You will taste and smell the hops, it’s an acquired taste that you may love or hate.

Hoppy, or Hoppiness, Hope that helps

    Thanks for Reading!
