Fall River Reservoir, Chinns Lake…

We knew at the beginning of the day that Chinn’s Lake would be our ultimate destination. We had heard about it from a couple of friends who also enjoy the outdoors. After seeing their pictures it seemed like it would be a good place to end the day and have a little lunch.  It didn’t disappoint, It was a cool little lake with a limited number of campsites to avoid overcrowding and the road leading there was just rough enough to limit who could and couldn’t make it. Lunch was good, we had sausage, cheese and crackers which is a high country staple for us at lunch time, along with a couple cold brewskis. The trail wasn’t too difficult, I wouldn’t have taken the civic but the Jeep did just fine.

On a side note we took a short trip to Fall River Reservoir prior to heading up to Chinn’s. It was another cool little lake with an awesome back drop. The downfalls were that the lake was well down and it wasn’t a great spot to hang out, but to just admire the views and watch dudes fly-fishing.

The Whole Trip:

Distance: 8.01 miles   Time: 2.69 hours (W/Lunch)    Difficulty: 3 out of 10    Scenic Rating: 5 out of 10

  1. Thanks for following my blog! I love jeeps as well. Currently have a 1982 CJ5 that I have been restoring over the past year. A lot of work but a lot of fun also.
