Yankee Hill…

Things got more difficult during this part of the day. Yankee hill would be best described as a big four wheel drive playground with many many many spurs and forks to take for different skill levels and vehicle types. The trail begins just west of Central City near two old cemeteries. As most trails do this one starts off very easy and becomes gradually more difficult. Our original plan was to take Yankee hill road and make the connection to St. Mary’s and go to St. Mary’s Glacier, That Proved to be way too difficult without a map. So we decided to just cruise around for a couple hours and pray we didn’t get lost! We got to play in a little water, Go over some big ass rocks, we definitely tested some of my technical skills. The Fall colors were fantastic as usual and we couldn’t have asked for better weather that day. This is a great place to go have fun, test out new equipment and get you feet wet.

Distance: 9.51 miles             Time: 1.51 hours         Difficulty: 4-5 out of 10      Scenic Rating: 6 out of 10
